Hi, my name is Femke. I like to cook - and eat. Fresh, not too complicated, but tasty. With Plantproef I want to make plant-based dishes accessible to everyone.
After 8 years of working as a salaried Data Scientist, I began a new adventure: Plantproef. During my last job I started a blog with vegan recipes as a hobby. I liked the combination of web development, cook, photography and writing so much that I am now working on it full-time.
cook has long been a matter of course for me. It wasn't long after I left home before I largely banned packets and sachets. To use fresh ingredients cook was not only almost as quick and easy, but also much tastier and healthier. With plant-based cooking, another whole new world opened up for me: you can eat so incredibly delicious and versatile foods without using animal products.
Plantproef was born out of that enthusiasm for delicious, healthy and versatile food. With fresh, plant-based, ingredients. With a food blog my hobbies and work experience come together. Besides cook, writing and photography, I can also do my technical work by developing the website myself and thinking about data structures.
I believe in cook with fresh ingredients from the season. That's when vegetables are at their best. Not only are they the tastiest, they are also the healthiest then. All recipes are categorized by season. The seasons are based on when the fresh ingredients from Dutch soil are on sale.
The recipes ️ are mostly simple and if possible quick. Sometimes recipes takes a little longer, but mostly because it has to go into oven for a while. Then you basically just have to wait. For the vast majority of recipes it also applies: it's not all that complicated. If it is, it's written there. With a little more of one or the other, your dish is not an instant failure.
All recipes at Plantproef have been prepared, photographed and eaten by me. Everything pictured is made as the recipe describes and edible. Generally, it is immediately my lunch or our dinner.
Eten is op meerdere vlakken interessant. Met koken zorgen combinaties van ingrediënten en bereidingswijzen voor een steeds weer ander resultaat. Maar ook de ingrediënten op zichzelf zijn al interessant.
